Over a hundred Taiwanese nationals, trafficked into Myanmar and forced to work on scam farms are now awaiting rescue, according to statements by human rights groups last Thursday. Tu Ying-chiu, Chief Executive of Taipei Women’s Rescue Foundation, spoke to The News Lens about how these scams grow rampant right before Chinese New Year as Taiwanese authorities face difficulties getting around international borders to conduct rescue operations.
