Four Junta Soldiers Surrender to CDF CDM Siyin

NARINJARA, June 18, 2026

Four military personnel from the coup junta army, including a sergeant and a corporal, defected and surrendered with their weapons and ammunition on Tuesday, according to a statement from the CDF CDM Siyin.

The soldiers were deployed with Battalion 101 under the 77th Division, which is stationed in Thaing Ngin village along the Hakha-Kalay Road in Northern Chin State.

The defectors have been identified as Sergeant Sithu Phyo, Lance Corporal Razar, Private Win Hlain and Private Aye Naing

Three of the men, Sergeant Sithu Phyo, Lance Corporal Razar, and Private Win Hlain, previously served in Maungdaw Township, located in Rakhine State.

The CDF CDM Siyin reported that it warmly welcomed the four defecting soldiers and provided them with cash rewards for choosing to "enter the light" and join the resistance.
