Five killed, including two under 14, two children injured in junta airstrike on Yoe Ta Yoke village in Ponnagyun

On November 7, five individuals, including two children under the age of 14, lost their lives, and seven others were injured, two of whom were also children, due to retaliatory bombing in Yoe Ta Yoke village, located in Ponnagyun Township, Rakhine State.


The two children who lost their lives were Maung Nyaung Kyaw, aged 11, who sought shelter in Yoe Ta Yoke village from the downtown area of Ponnagyun, and Ma Khin Cho Htun, aged 14, from Yoe Ta Yoke.


The three women who lost their lives along with the two children are Daw U Khin San Oo (39), who was sheltering in Yoe Ta Yoke village, and Daw Hla Mya Than (50) and Daw Nu Nu Lwin (43), both from Yoe Ta Yoke.


Among those who were hurt, there are two children: Maung Zwe Htet Hein (11), who was visiting Yoe Ta Rok village from Laek Ma village in Kyauktaw Township, and Ma Khaing Thawdar (17), who is from Yoe Ta Rok village.


The remaining injured individuals included Daw Aye Nyein Cho (33), U Maung Htun Nu (34), Daw Hnin Aye Khin (63), and U Thein Htun (55) from Yoe Ta Yoke village, as well as Daw Hla Shwe Nu (35), who was fleeing from the conflict in Aung Phyu Pyin village, and a man from Kwan Taung village.


At 11:29 a.m. on November 7, the Myanmar Air Force released two bombs on the village of Aung Phyu Pyin.


At 11:30 a.m., two 500-pound bombs were released onto the houses in the village of Yoe Ta Yoke.


The airstrike on the civilian village of Yoe Ta Yoke caused the deaths of five individuals, which included two children and three women, while injuring seven others, comprising three women and four men.
