Electric power from Myitsone Project to be prioritized for Domestic Sufficiency

The electricity generated by the Myitsone Project to be implemented will be prioritized for domestic sufficiency , said U Tin Aung San, Chairman of the Electricity and Energy Development Commission and Union Minister for the Office of the President (1).
He made the following statement while meeting with local people at the Myitkyina University Convocation Hall on the morning of February 20 to discuss the Ayeyarwady Myitsone-Myitnya Project.
He said that the electricity needed in the state will be used and the surplus electricity will be shared with ethnic brothers and sisters in the mainland and other states. In addition, the Ayeyarwady Myitsone-Myitnya River Basin Hydroelectric Project will fully meet the country’s electricity needs, create employment opportunities for local people, and b the socio-economic benefits development.
Union Minister U Tin Aung San also said that the national government is taking the people’s wishes seriously and that the success of projects depends largely on the support and cooperation of local parents and the community, so there is a need for everyone to work together to implement the project.
