Earthquake ruins over 70,000 structures, kills 3,649 individuals, Junta claims

The 7.7-magnitude earthquake hit Myanmar on March 28, damaging over 70,000 structures, such as temples, pagodas, and houses, and resulting in 3,649 fatalities by April 10, according to the military council.
During a farewell event for the Bangladesh Search and Rescue and Emergency Medical Services team in Nay Pyi Taw on April 10, junta deputy leader Lt. Sen. Gen. Soe Win expressed these comments.
The earthquake damaged over 60,000 residences, 3,514 religious sites, 2,366 educational institutions, 3,678 government offices/buildings, 155 bridges, and 5,620 temples.
