Since the 1 February 2021 coup, a total of (8,033) people, including pro-democracy activists and civilians, have been killed by the junta and pro-military groups during the Spring Revolution.

A total of (30,958) people have been arrested by the junta for opposing their arbitrary seizure of power. Of those arrested, (14,203) are confirmed to still be in detention, while (7,874) remain to be verified.

These are the numbers verified by the Assistance Association for Political Prisoners (AAPP). The actual numbers are likely much higher. We will continue to update accordingly.

The junta continues to carry out targeted attacks on civilians on a daily basis. On May 1, seven civilians, including children, were killed and several others were injured in an airstrike on Khuapishit Village in Falam Township, Chin State. Similarly, on May 6, the junta conducted another aerial bombing on Chat Pye village in Wetlet Township, Sagaing Region, killing three local residents.

In addition, the junta are deliberately attacking and destroying civilian houses that are not military targets. Since May 1, junta forces have been launching offensives into villages in the western part of Myingyan Township, Mandalay Region, and burning down homes. Sin Chaung Village and Ma Yoe Kone Village were almost completely destroyed by fire. According to the information on the ground, junta forces abducted and raped four women from Ma Yoe Kone Village.
