Since the 1 February 2021 coup, a total of (7,887) people, including pro-democracy activists and civilians, have been killed by the junta and pro-military groups during the Spring Revolution.
Since the coup, a total of (30,634) people have been arrested by the junta in relation to its seizure of power. (22,442) are currently in detention, (11,290) of whom are serving sentences.
These are the numbers verified by the Assistance Association for Political Prisoners (AAPP). The actual numbers are likely much higher. We will continue to update accordingly.
According to the data collected by AAPP, from January 1 to March 13, 2026, the junta killed (115) men in total across the country, including (17) boys under the age of 18. These are the numbers that have been verified. Among them, Sagaing Region records the highest number of fatalities, with (35) men killed, followed by (23) in Rakhine State. Among the (115) deceased, (93) men were killed by the junta’s airstrikes, recording the highest cause of death. During the stated period, the AAPP has also received information regarding the death of (112) men, as a result of junta attacks, whose identities have yet to be confirmed.
On March 4, at approximately 9:00 p.m., junta forces from the Northwestern Command Headquarters (Na Ma Kha) in Monywa Township conducted an aerial bombing using paramotors on villages in Pale Township, Sagaing Region. The bombs exploded in Ma Yoe Tone Village, killing elderly women Mi Kyi and San Aye, as well as Myat Lay Nwe and Tun Myint, who were struck by bomb shrapnel. Several others were also injured. Among the wounded, an unidentified civilian later died on March 5, 2026, due to the severity of her injuries.
