Daily Briefing in Relation to the Military Coup

Since the 1 February 2021 coup, a total of (7,807) people, including pro-democracy activists and civilians, have been killed by the junta and pro-military groups during the Spring Revolution.
Since the coup, a total of (30,508) people have been arrested by the junta in relation to its seizure of power. (22,799) are currently in detention, (11,561) of whom are serving sentences.
These are the numbers verified by the Assistance Association for Political Prisoners (AAPP). The actual numbers are likely much higher. We will continue to update accordingly.
Inmates in Hinthada Prison, Ayeyarwady Region, have reportedly been ordered to perform hard labor, and prison authorities beat and tortured inmates who refused to work due to poor health. This led many inmates, including political prisoners, to suffer serious injuries, and they were reportedly denied medical treatment, according to observations.
Junta forces have been deliberately targeting buildings that are not military targets. According to ground reports, on February 15, junta forces launched a military offensive into Tha Man Ta Poet Village, Yesagyo Township, Magway Region, and set fire to the village, burning down over 30 houses. On February 18, junta forces conducted an aerial bombing on a school and a hospital in Ywar Kone Gyi Village, Kyunhla Township, Sagaing Region, despite no clashes occurring, destroying the buildings. On February 19, junta forces conducted an aerial bombing on Tha Yet Cho Village, Ramree Township, Rakhine State, killing two men and destroying many houses.
