⁨Daily Briefing in Relation to the Military Coup

Date – 11 February 2026


Since the 1 February 2021 coup, a total of (7,777) people, including pro-democracy activists and civilians, have been killed by the junta and pro-military groups during the Spring Revolution.


Since the coup, a total of (30,448) people have been arrested by the junta in relation to its seizure of power. (22,797) are currently in detention, (11,534) of whom are serving sentences.


These are the numbers verified by the Assistance Association for Political Prisoners (AAPP). The actual numbers are likely much higher. We will continue to update accordingly.


According to the data collected by AAPP, from January 1 to February 11, 2026, the junta killed (17) people in total in Kachin State; (8) women and (9) men. These are the numbers that have been verified. Among these deaths, (17) people were killed by the junta’s airstrikes marking the highest cause of death. During the stated period, the AAPP has also received information regarding the death of (8) civilians, as a result of junta attacks, whose identities have yet to be confirmed.


On February 4, at approximately 4 p.m., the junta forces conducted an aerial bombing using a fighter jet on Shwe Nyaung Pin Village, Waingmaw Township, Kachin State. The bomb exploded near a car repair shop in the village. Zin Ko Oo was hit by the bomb shrapnel and died instantly.
