Daily Briefing in Relation to the Military Coup

Since the 1 February 2021 coup, a total of (7,672) people, including pro-democracy activists and civilians, have been killed by the junta and pro-military groups during the Spring Revolution.
Since the coup, a total of (30,247) people have been arrested by the junta in relation to its seizure of power. (22,703) are currently in detention, (11,443) of whom are serving sentences.
These are the numbers verified by the Assistance Association for Political Prisoners (AAPP). The actual numbers are likely much higher. We will continue to update accordingly.
According to the data collected by the AAPP, from January 1 to December 31, 2025, (292) children in total under the age of 18; (137) girls and (155) boys, were killed by the junta across the country, including two three-month-old children. The identities of these victims have been verified. Among them, Sagaing Region records the highest number of deaths, totaling (78), followed by (57) people in Rakhine State. Moreover, among the (292) deceased, (231) people were killed by the junta’s airstrikes, recording the highest cause of death.
