Daily Briefing in Relation to the Military Coup

Since the 1 February 2021 coup, a total of (7,565) people, including pro-democracy activists and civilians, have been killed by the junta and pro-military groups during the Spring Revolution. 


Since the coup, a total of (30,108) people have been arrested by the junta in relation to its seizure of power. (22,691) are currently in detention, (11,424) of whom are serving sentences. 


According to the latest information gathered and confirmed by AAPP, (121) people have been arrested under the Election Protection Law, among whom (84) individuals have not yet been identified. 


These are the numbers verified by the Assistance Association for Political Prisoners (AAPP). The actual numbers are likely much higher. We will continue to update accordingly.


According to the identified data collected by AAPP, from January 1 to December 10, 2025, the junta arrested (246) people in relation to the Spring Revolution: (76) women and (170) men, across the country. Moreover, (208) people in total: (66) women and (142) men, were given prison sentences under specious charges by courts subservient to the junta. Among them, (16) people were sentenced to life imprisonment and (3) people were sentenced to  the death penalty. 


During the stated period, (98) people in total were killed by the junta in formal detention facilities across the country. This included (8) men in interrogation, (3) men in police stations, and (25) women and (62) men in prisons. These are the numbers that have been verified.
