Daily Briefing in Relation to the Military Coup

Since the 1 February 2021 coup, a total of (7,499) people, including pro-democracy activists and civilians, have been killed by the junta and pro-military groups during the Spring Revolution.


Since the coup, a total of (30,039) people have been arrested by the junta in relation to its seizure of power. (22,702) are currently in detention, (11,424) of whom are serving sentences.


According to the latest information gathered and confirmed by AAPP, (86) people have been arrested under the Election Protection Law, among whom (54)individuals have not yet been identified.


These are the numbers verified by the Assistance Association for Political Prisoners (AAPP). The actual numbers are likely much higher. We will continue to update accordingly.


On November 26, 2025, the junta announced the release of (724) male and female prisoners who had been sentenced under only Section 505-A of the Penal Code in various prisons, detention centers, and police stations across the country.


The Assistance Association for Political Prisoners (AAPP) has been monitoring the release of political prisoners included in this list. According to information gathered as of 4 p.m. today, around (549) political prisoners have been released from (16) prisons, and (24) of those released have been identified by name.


Since the coup, a total of (2,233) people have died after being apprehended by the junta. This number includes (605) people who died in official detention centers such as prisons, police stations, and interrogation centers. These figures are based only on verifiable data available, and the actual number on the ground is expected to be much higher.
