Daily Briefing in Relation to the Military Coup

Since the 1 February 2021 coup, a total of (7,488) people, including pro-democracy activists and civilians, have been killed by the junta and pro-military groups during the Spring Revolution.
Since the coup, a total of (30,013) people have been arrested by the junta in relation to its seizure of power. (22,693) are currently in detention, (11,410) of whom are serving sentences.
According to the latest information gathered and confirmed by AAPP, (85) people have been arrested under the Election Protection Law, among whom (54)individuals have not yet been identified.
These are the numbers verified by the Assistance Association for Political Prisoners (AAPP). The actual numbers are likely much higher. We will continue to update accordingly.
A political prisoner in Magway Prison, Magway Region, was placed in solitary confinement for reporting on oppression inside the prison during a visit by the Prison Director.
Civilians continue to face daily attacks by junta forces. According to ground reports, on November 17, six civilians were killed during the junta’s aerial bombings on Kyet Thauk Twin Village in Natmauk Township, Magway Region, and Taung Ngu Village in Kyaukpyu Township, Rakhine State. On November 20, five civilians were killed and many others were injured during the junta’s aerial bombing on Kan Gyi Village, Myaing Township, Magway Region.
On November 21, at least five civilians were killed in an airstrike on Mawchee Village, Hpasawng Township, Kayah State. On the same day, nearly 40 houses in Nyaung To Village, Taungtha Township, Mandalay Region, were burned down by junta forces, killing an 80-year-old monk.
