Daily Briefing in Relation to the Military Coup

Since the 1 February 2021 coup, a total of (7,484) people, including pro-democracy activists and civilians, have been killed by the junta and pro-military groups during the Spring Revolution.


Since the coup, a total of (30,010) people have been arrested by the junta in relation to its seizure of power. (22,690) are currently in detention, (11,404) of whom are serving sentences.


According to the latest information gathered and confirmed by AAPP, (85) people have been arrested under the Election Protection Law, among whom (54)individuals have not yet been identified.


These are the numbers verified by the Assistance Association for Political Prisoners (AAPP). The actual numbers are likely much higher. We will continue to update accordingly.


According to the data collected by AAPP, from September 1 to November 21, 2025, (34) people in total from the education sector, (6) women and (28)men, were killed by the junta across the country, including (27) children under the age of 18.


These are the numbers that have been verified. Among the (34) deaths, (32) people were killed by the junta’s airstrikes, marking the cause of death. Among the (34) deceased, Rakhine State recorded the highest numbers of deaths, totaling(20).


On the morning of November 20, junta forces from Meiktila Air Force conducted an aerial bombing on Kan Gyi Village, Myaing Township, Magway Region. The explosions struck houses in the village, killing five civilians—Hla Naing, Soe Tun, students Khant Zin Ko and Swan Khant Naing, and an unidentified person—and injuring many others due to bomb shrapnel.
