Daily Briefing in Relation to the Military Coup

Since the 1 February 2021 coup, a total of (7,476) people, including pro-democracy activists and civilians, have been killed by the junta and pro-military groups during the Spring Revolution.


Since the coup, a total of (30,000) people have been arrested by the junta in relation to its seizure of power. (22,680) are currently in detention, (11,392) of whom are serving sentences.


According to the latest information gathered and confirmed by AAPP, (85) people have been arrested under the Election Protection Law, among whom (54)individuals have not yet been identified.


These are the numbers verified by the Assistance Association for Political Prisoners (AAPP). The actual numbers are likely much higher. We will continue to update accordingly.


According to the data collected by AAPP, from September 1 to November 20, 2025, the junta killed (82) people in total in Sagaing Region; (27) women and (55) men, including (15) children under the age of 18. These are the numbers that have been verified. Among the deaths, (54) people were killed by the junta’s airstrikes, marking the highest cause of death. During the stated period in that region, the AAPP has also received information regarding the death of (79) civilians, as a result of junta attacks, whose identities have yet to be confirmed.


On November 18, at approximately 4 p.m., junta forces conducted an aerial bombing in the vicinity of Min Oh Village, Kani Township, Sagaing Region, killing Yin Yin Mya, a teacher who had joined the Civil Disobedience Movement (CDM).


She was a resident of Tha Yet Pin Village and had been traveling to Min Oh Village to harvest sesame.
