Daily Briefing in Relation to the Military Coup

Since the 1 February 2021 coup, a total of (7,472) people, including pro-democracy activists and civilians, have been killed by the junta and pro-military groups during the Spring Revolution.
Since the coup, a total of (29,998) people have been arrested by the junta in relation to its seizure of power. (22,679) are currently in detention, (11,391) of whom are serving sentences.
According to the latest information gathered and confirmed by AAPP, (85) people have been arrested under the Election Protection Law, among whom (54)individuals have not yet been identified.
These are the numbers verified by the Assistance Association for Political Prisoners (AAPP). The actual numbers are likely much higher. We will continue to update accordingly.
According to the data collected by AAPP, from September 1 to November 19, 2025, (23) people in total; (6) women and (17) men, were killed by the junta’s gunfire across the country, including (4) children under the age of 18. These are the numbers that have been verified. Among the (23) deceased, Sagaing Region records the highest number of fatalities, with (8) people killed, followed by (7) in Magway Region. During the stated period, the AAPP has also received information regarding the death of (40) civilians, as a result of junta’s gunfire attacks, whose identities have yet to be confirmed.
On the evening of November 16, Thet Naing Linn, a motorbike taxi driver from Nat Chaung Village, was transporting passengers on the Kale-Gangaw Road in Kale Township, Sagaing Region. When they were near Nat Myaung Village, they were shot at and the driver was instantly killed from a gunshot wound to the chest. Two passengers were injured.
