Daily Briefing in Relation to the Military Coup

Since the 1 February 2021 coup, a total of (7,393) people, including pro-democracy activists and civilians, have been killed by the junta and pro-military groups during the Spring Revolution.
Since the coup, a total of (29,849) people have been arrested by the junta in relation to its seizure of power. (22,539) are currently in detention, (11,236) of whom are serving sentences.
These are the numbers verified by the Assistance Association for Political Prisoners (AAPP).
The actual numbers are likely much higher. We will continue to update accordingly.
According to the data collected by AAPP, from October 1 to 21, 2025, the junta killed (29) people in total in Shan State; (18) women and (11) men, including (8) children under the age of 18. The youngest recorded death was a two-year-old boy. These are the numbers that have been verified. All of these deaths were caused by the junta’s airstrikes. During the stated period in that region, the AAPP has also received information regarding the death of (13) civilians, as a result of junta attacks, whose identities have yet to be confirmed.
