Daily Briefing in Relation to the Military Coup

Since the 1 February 2021 coup, a total of (7,388) people, including pro-democracy activists and civilians, have been killed by the junta and pro-military groups during the Spring Revolution.
Since the coup, a total of (29,843) people have been arrested by the junta in relation to its seizure of power. (22,537) are currently in detention, (11,233) of whom are serving sentences.
These are the numbers verified by the Assistance Association for Political Prisoners (AAPP).
The actual numbers are likely much higher. We will continue to update accordingly.
According to observations made by the Documentation and Research Department of the Assistance Association for Political Prisoners (AAPP), the junta has been pressuring both political and non-political inmates in Insein Prison, Yangon Region, to cast early votes. They have threatened to punish those who refuse, including placing them in solitary confinement. From 1 to 20 October, 2025, while holding a workshop under the pretense of promoting peace, the junta continued to conduct airstrikes, heavy artillery attacks and ground offensives across Sagaing Region, Mandalay Region, Bago Region, Shan State, and Chin State, killing around (75) civilians.
