Daily Briefing in Relation to the Military Coup

Since the 1 February 2021 coup, a total of (7,378) people, including pro-democracy activists and civilians, have been killed by the junta and pro-military groups during the Spring Revolution.


Since the coup, a total of (29,827) people have been arrested by the junta in relation to its seizure of power. (22,521) are currently in detention, (11,205) of whom are serving sentences.


These are the numbers verified by the Assistance Association for Political Prisoners (AAPP).


The actual numbers are likely much higher. We will continue to update accordingly.


According to the data collected by AAPP, from July 1 to October 15, 2025, (288)people in total; (119) women and (169) men, were killed by the junta’s airstrikes across the country, including (30) from the education sector. These are the numbers that have been verified.

Among them, Sagaing Region recorded the highest number of deaths, totaling (91) people, followed by (37) in Rakhine State.


On October 13, at approximately 10 am., junta forces conducted an aerial bombing on a primary school in Vanhar Village, Hakha Township, Chin State, with the bomb shrapnel instantly killing two students, Johan (Grade-3) and Zin Cer (Grade-5).
