The Chin People’s Union/Chin People’s Army (CPU/CPA) reported on Friday that several Myanmar junta commanders, including battalion commander Major Kyaw Set, were killed during recent clashes in Mindat and Kanpetlet townships in southern Chin State.

The defense forces also reported numerous junta injuries and the seizure of a large cache of weapons and ammunition.

Clashes have intensified as the CPA and allied forces press their offensive in southern Chin State.

The fighting continued through the end of July, with junta troops fiercely resisting the attacks.

CPU/CPA forces, alongside the Chin Brotherhood (CB), the Yaw Army (YA), the Yaw Defense Force (YDF), and other allied revolutionary groups, continue to launch heavy assaults on temporary regime bases.

During these engagements, revolutionary forces successfully countered junta operations, killing Major Kyaw Set and several other officers. Allied forces seized enemy bodies, various firearms, ammunition, drones, jammers, and other military equipment, while also taking several prisoners of war.

Additionally, some military council soldiers defected and surrendered to the revolutionary forces.

The alliance stated that these defectors are being well accommodated and that plans are underway to safely return them to their families.
