Conflicts on the Monywa-Mandalay Highway Result in Deaths of 17 Junta Soldiers, Including a Second Lieutenant, and Burning of Two Military Vehicles


On March 6, the Chaung U People's Defence Force released a statement indicating that on March 4, fighting occurred between the combined resistance forces and junta soldiers along the Monywa-Mandalay highway in the Sagaing Region. The clashes led to the deaths of 17 junta troops, among them a second lieutenant, and the destruction of two military vehicles by fire. 


The assault is said to have taken place at 3:10 pm on March 4, at a location along the Monywa-Mandalay highway.
