On 7 February 2022, President Biden sent a message to the Congress on the continuation of the national emergency with respect to the situation in and in relation to Burma.
In his message, Biden said that the national emergency with respect to the situation in and in relation to Burma declared in Executive Order 14014 of February 10, 2021, is to continue in effect beyond February 10, 2022.

Discussions on Myanmar during the Video Call between Cambodia Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Prak Sokhonn and Brunei Second Minister of Foreign Affairs Dato Erywan Pehin Yusof
On 9 February 2022, Cambodia Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Prak Sokhonn had a video call with Brunei Second Minister of Foreign Affairs Dato Erywan Pehin Yusof.
During the call, the two foreign ministers discussed extensively on the situation in Myanmar and ASEAN effort to support de-escalation of the crisis and attainment of a peaceful solution based on the Five-point consensus agreed at ASEAN Leaders’ Meeting on 24 April 2021.

Statement on Professor Sean Turnell
On 6 February 2022, Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Australian Government issued a statement on Australian Professor Sean Turnell, who was detained by the Myanmar military one year ago.
The statement said that Professor Turnell's detention is unjust, and they reject the allegations against him.

Humanitarian assistance to the people of Myanmar
The humanitarian situation in Myanmar has been deteriorating since the coup in February last year.
According to the United Nations, many Myanmar citizens are forced to face difficulties in their lives with no way out due to the economic stagnation after the coup and the spread of COVID-19.
The United Nations announced on January 30 the Humanitarian Response Plan for Myanmar, calling on the international community to provide assistance of US $826 million over the next year.

Myanmar's SAC not to send representatives to ASEAN meeting
Myanmar's State Administration Council (SAC) would not send representatives to the upcoming ASEAN Foreign Ministers' Meeting, Zaw Min Tun, spokesman for the Myanmar military and the SAC, said on 9 February 2022.
This would be the second time Myanmar has been absent from the meeting since October last year.

Myanmar military convoy was attacked by civilians on the way to Menggu Peng Line
According to news from northern Shan State, at about 11:00 pm on February 8, fighting broke out between the military forces and the Kokang Allied Army (MNDAA) between Nam Paga and Homon villages.
A local citizen said that a military convoy consisting of 30 military vehicles drove to the Menggu Pengxian area. When the convoy arrived between Nampagar and Homon village, it was attacked by the Kokang Allied Army (MNDAA), and the two sides fought fiercely about an hour.

Data complaint filed against plan to sell Telenor Myanmar
A customer of Telenor's Myanmar telecommunications business has filed a complaint with Norway’s data protection authority, saying the company's plan to sell the business risks a potentially dangerous breach of privacy, the law firm representing the person said.
After the military ousted Myanmar’s elected government last year, Norway- based Telenor Group announced it would sell its business there to the M1 Group, a Lebanese-based investment firm. It also wrote off the value of the business. Final details of the sale remain unclear.
