Expression regarding Myanmar on PressStatement by the Chairman of the ASEAN Foreign Ministers’ Retreat (AMM Retreat)
ASEAN Member States reaffirmed ASEAN's continued support for Myanmar's efforts to bring peace and stability, to promote harmony and reconciliation among the various communities as well as to promote inclusive and sustainable development in Rakhine State.
They look forward to the conduct of the Comprehensive Needs Assessment (CNA) when conditions allow, and encouraged the Secretary-General of ASEAN to continue identifying possible areas for ASEAN to effectively facilitate the repatriation process.

Remarks of Malaysia Foreign Minister Saifuddin Abdullah on Myanmar
On 17 February 2022, Malaysia Foreign Minister Saifuddin Abdullah posted his remarks on Myanmar through his official Facebook.
He mentioned that Malaysia urged ASEAN at the ASEAN Foreign Ministers’ Retreat in Phnom Penh, to act on the principles of consultation and constructive engagement in seeking a peaceful solution and a return to normalcy in Myanmar.
He said this solution must be one that respects the will and aspiration of the people of Myanmar, and Malaysia reiterated its full support for the 5 Point Consensus.

ASEAN foreign ministers held an informal meeting in Phnom Penh, and pledged to ensure the full and effective implementation of the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP).
The situation in Myanmar is also a key topic of this meeting. ASEAN foreign ministers stressed that Myanmar is an inseparable member of the ASEAN family. ASEAN Envoy to Attempt Meeting with Shadow Govt. in Myanmar
Prak Sokhon plans to visit Myanmar in his capacity as special envoy for the ASEAN in ―early March‖ but said he could not guarantee that he would meet with the National Unity Government (NUG).
He made the comments at the end of an ASEAN Foreign Ministers’ Retreat in Phnom Penh that was dominated by talk about the situation in Myanmar, where authorities have cracked down on anti-junta protests since the military seized power just over a year ago.
―I will meet with relevant parties but not all,‖ Prak Sokhon said, referring to one of the conditions of an agreement known as the Five-Point Consensus that the junta made with ASEAN in April 2021.

ASEAN special envoy plans to visit Myanmar in March
Cambodian Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Minister Prak Shokhonn said that he has planned to visit Myanmar in March as the ASEAN’s Special Envoy.
The Cambodian diplomat asked the military administration in Myanmar to create conditions for him to talk to members of the National Unity Government of Myanmar (NUG), according to the Vietnam news agency (VNA).

Daily Briefing in Relation to the Military Coup
As of February 18, (1560) people are now confirmed killed by this junta coup. AAPP compiled and documented (3) fallen heroes today. These (3) fallen heroes from Myingyan Township in Mandalay Region and Thandwe Township in Rakhine State were killed on February 17 and documented today. This is the number verified by AAPP.
As of February 18, a total of (9215) people are currently under detention. (716) people have been sentenced in person, of them 45 have been sentenced to death (incl. 2 children). 1973 are evading arrest warrants. 118 people have been sentenced in absentia, of them 39 sentenced to death in absentia. In total 84 sentenced to death, in person and absentia.
