Border Affairs Minister Escapes Suicide Drone Attack in Chin State

Minister for Border and Ethnic Affairs Yar Pyae narrowly escaped a suicide drone attack Friday in the Chin State capital Hakha, where he was attending a Chin National Day event. The resistance Chinland Defense Force–Hakha (CDF-Hakha) published a video clip of the attack, which it said targeted a ceremony at the General Administration Office attended by Yar Pyae as well as 17 other junta officials and representatives of the Chin State government. Following the attack, Yar Pyae fled the city, the resistance group claimed. The video shows a drone flying into a marquee where a crowd of people are gathered, plus a separate attack on regime forces on a hilltop base. Three days prior to the attack, the CDF-Hakha issued a statement urging people not to attend the regime’s National Day celebrations.
