The Blood Money Campaign has called on international governments to impose comprehensive sanctions on the military junta's aviation fuel supply chain. The activist group highlighted that the coup-staging junta is conducting daily bombing raids across Arakan State in an attempt to reclaim territories now controlled by the Arakan Army (AA).
According to the group's statement issued today, the coastal region of Arakan State is facing a coordinated land, sea, and air offensive by the military regime.
=“The power-seizing military junta, seeking to reclaim territories controlled by the United League of Arakan/Arakan Army (ULA/AA), is conducting aerial bombing raids using formations of at least two aircraft against non-military targets. These include civilian homes, displacement camps, markets, bridges, hospitals, clinics, and religious buildings,” the statement reads.
The Blood Money Campaign emphasized that halting these devastating airstrikes requires international governments to move beyond statements of concern or condemnation. Instead, they must target the exact logistics that keep the junta's aircraft flying.
The group specifically called out Western maritime and financial sectors that inadvertently enable these shipments. Regardless of which nations sell the jet fuel, the cargo cannot reach Myanmar without intermediary vessels, insurance services, storage facilities, and ports.
“In particular, the EU and UK governments must take action regarding the involvement of up to five UK-based insurance companies in providing the marine insurance essential for transporting jet fuel. Furthermore, relevant governments must take action against the intermediary fuel storage facilities and ports that facilitate this supply chain. Put an end to profiting from warfare at the cost of human lives,” the statement adds.
The call for sanctions comes amid a sharp rise in civilian casualties. Data compiled by Narinjara reveals the human toll of the regime's recent air campaign:
October 1–15, 2026: Airstrikes killed 23 innocent civilians and injured 51 others in just two weeks.
September 2026: Air raids killed 64 civilians and injured 96 others across Arakan State.
