Arakan Army (AA) Deputy Chief Dr. Nyo Twan Awng has warned the public to prepare for an intense and grueling phase of conflict as the ethnic armed group approaches what it envisions as "national victory day."

Writing in an official journal published Sept. 26 by the United League of Arakan (ULA)—the AA’s political wing—Dr. Nyo Twan Awng described the current landscape as a "revolutionary storm" requiring fortitude, wisdom, unity, and courage from the Arakanese public.

He cautioned that military tensions and fighting are set to escalate significantly during the transition from the rainy season into winter.

Heavy clashes are expected to intensify across Sittwe, Kyaukphyu, and Ponnagyun townships in Arakan (Rakhine) State, as well as along the Arakan Yoma mountain range, Paletwa Township in Chin State, and border zones adjacent to the Magway, Bago, and Ayeyarwady regions.

According to the AA deputy chief, Myanmar's military junta is expected to double or triple its troop strength across these fronts, deploying coordinated land, naval, and air operations.

Despite the looming escalation, Dr. Nyo Twan Awng emphasized that the ULA/AA will continue advancing local administration, public security, institutional expansion, and regional development across Arakan State without interruption.

Current civic priorities include strengthening administrative frameworks, capacity building for staff, fostering Arakanese literature and news media, and expanding public services under the Arakan People's Revolutionary Government.

The AA currently controls 14 townships in Arakan State, as well as Paletwa Township in Chin State, where it has established administrative mechanisms, law enforcement bodies, and governance infrastructure.
