Ambassador Kyaw Moe Tun urges UN support for SCEF resistance alliance

Myanmar’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Ambassador Kyaw Moe Tun, has formally written to U.N. Secretary-General António Guterres requesting international endorsement and official support for the Steering Council for the Emergence of a Federal Democratic Union (SCEF)—Myanmar’s premier democratic resistance coalition.

In his letter dated July 31, Kyaw Moe Tun emphasized that the SCEF represents the legitimate will of the population in building a federal democratic system:

“The SCEF is committed to protecting and promoting the essence of federal democracy and self-determination… It is rooted in the people, supported by the people, and accountable for the people,” said Kyaw Moe Tun.
