Airstrikes target NUG-run hospital in Sagaing Region’s Pinlebu, killing three and injuring 15

At least three civilians, including a six-year-old child, were killed and 15 hospital patients were injured after the Myanmar Air Force carried out 10 airstrikes on Kinpan village in Sagaing Region’s Pinlebu Township on Sunday.

The attack directly targeted a medical compound managed by the opposition National Unity Government (NUG). Residents told DVB that the death toll is expected to rise as search and rescue teams continue clearing rubble from a school building located inside the hospital compound that was destroyed in the bombing.

Located 190 miles (305 km) north of the Sagaing capital Monywa, Pinlebu was captured by the People’s Defense Force (PDF) in October 2024 and has been under NUG administration for nearly two years.
