AA Technology Neutralizes Junta Drones on Nat Yay Kan Frontline

The Arakan Army (AA) has reportedly utilized superior electronic warfare technology to shoot down military drones deployed by the Myanmar junta near the Nat Yay Kan air defense base in Padan, Magway Region.

Military sources close to the AA told Narinjara News Agency that the downed aircraft included combat drones launching bomb attacks, as well as large-scale logistics drones delivering food and aid to the besieged base. The strategic outpost is currently blocked by the AA and its allied forces, including the People's Defense Force (PDF).

In response to the blockade, junta columns have moved into the nearby frontline villages of Khamak Daung and Myay Lat, establishing strongholds to store heavy weaponry, drones, and rations.

"They have deployed around 500 troops and built docking and support stations for heavy weapons and drones in Khamak Daung and Mukuk villages," an AA-linked military source said. "Drones are being launched directly from these areas. The next models they plan to deploy may be the Pasaka 905 and Kapasa 14. However, we have successfully neutralized numerous drones over the past few days using advanced intercept technology."

Reports indicate that the junta is heavily relying on heavy-duty Octocopter drones, equipped with eight motors and propellers, to airlift food and ammunition to the Nat Lake (Nat Yay Kan) camp.

"Right now, they are using these Octocopters for both logistical supply runs and offensive strikes against AA positions. Over the last few days, our forces have proven capable of intercepting even these large octocopters using specialized technology," the source added.

The junta forces attempting to penetrate the Nat Yay Kan air defense strategic hill on the Ann-Padan Road have reportedly shifted tactics, using drones to launch unexpected flanking maneuvers.

"When their main offensive stalled, junta columns attempted to deceive the AA by launching a covert attack from the ridge between the old and new Nat Yay Kan roads. However, the AA ambushed the advancing troops, forcing them to retreat with heavy casualties," the source stated.

The junta offensive originally began on September 4th along the Nat Yay Kan Mountain Road. It ground to a halt after sustaining severe losses, requiring hundreds of wounded soldiers to be evacuated by vehicle day and night through an abandoned village camp to Padan.

Local military sources confirmed that while the ground offensive remains stalled, the junta has turned to UAVs and combat drones to scout positions and bombard the area from open terrain. However, the AA's counter-drone technology continues to successfully disrupt and shoot down these aerial threats.
