AA-PDF troops achieve success in Sagaing military operations

The Arakan Army (AA) and People’s Defense Revolutionary Forces (PDF) have achieved significant victories in Sagaing region of upper Myanmar, which is close to Kachin State.
A press release titled ‘Joint Military Operations of PDF, KPK & AA in Kanbalu District’ and issued on 11 February, by the number one military region (Sagaing) confirmed the success.
From December 2025 to early February 2026, the AA and PDF jointly launched attacks on four military commission posts and one military column in Kanbalu district of Sagaing region.
The camps targeted include Ko Taung Bok (Pyu Saw Hti) village camp under Kantbalu township, Pe Gyi (Pyu Saw Hti) village camp on the Shwebo-Myitkyina road, Ngam Pyaw Tain (Pyu Saw Hti) village camp and In Tain (Pyu Saw Hti) village camp under Kyun Hla township. Additionally, a military line in Kaw Lin township was also attacked.
During the gun fighting, the joint forces used jet fighters and Y-12s for bombings around 37 times along with gyrocopters four times and kamikaze drones four times.
At least 96 army personnel were killed and 38 sustained injuries. Moreover, 101 members of the coup army, including Pyu Saw Hti, were captured.
The revolutionary forces also seized 187 pieces of various weapons, 24652 rounds of ammunition with 530 bombs, military equipment and consumer goods.
In the battle of Thayet Khon village under Kawlin township, the AA-PDF troops attacked the enemy's column from Kawlin town that had been advancing towards Thayet Khon village since 7 February.
Similarly, in the battle of Ko Taung Bok village, the AA fighters with several PDF personnel attacked and later captured the camp, which was under the command of captain Naung Thura and Pyu Saw Hti joint forces of 100 from 28 to 31 January.
Ko Taung Bok village camp still remains under the control of revolutionary forces.
The military commission led by lieutenant colonel Aung Myo Oo and Pyu Saw Hti joint forces of 105 from Pegyi village camp and Ngam Pyaw Tain village camp were captured by the Kanbalu’s PDF personnel in association with allied forces in the second half of December 2025.
Soon after the fall of Pegyi and Ngam Pyaw Tain village camps, the forces retreated.
The AA and PDF personnel also attacked and captured Shwe Paw Kone camp and Power House camp, which were occupied by a combined forces of 85 soldiers led by sergeant Aung Aung and Pyu Saw Hti along with 23 soldiers led by Pyu Saw Hti leader Zaw Gyi, in In Tain village under Kyunhla township from 19 to 21 December 2025.
The In Tain village camp is still under the control of revolutionary forces.
