On October 19, the Arakan Army (AA) issued a military alert due to ongoing movements by the Myanmar army in Arakan (Rakhine), which aims to seize towns currently held by the AA.
In a document named "Notice and Prohibition Order," the AA declared that the Myanmar army, under the existing military government, has been organizing military efforts with greater care than in the past.
Especially in cities like Sittwe a
nd Kyaukpyu, where there is conflict involving the Arakan Army, the military junta is slowly enhancing its power via naval forces.
At the same time, the junta army has been increasing its naval activities in the waters close to Thandwe and Gwa areas that are entirely under the control of the Arakan Army. Surveillance planes have been conducting flights over these cities with greater frequency in recent days.
