The Arakan Army (AA) has expressed its deep appreciation for those who sacrificed their lives during the Karenni Revolution against the junta regime.

This was stated in a congratulatory message sent by the United League of Arakan and the Arakan Army (ULA/AA) on the fifth anniversary of the Karenni Nationalities Defense Force (KNDF), observed on May 31.

“We deeply appreciate and acknowledge the sacrifices of the Karenni people, Karenni heroes, and revolutionary comrades who sacrificed their lives, blood, and sweat during the five-year Karenni Revolution of the KNDF,” the message stated.

Formed by active and courageous young people, the KNDF has officially reached its fifth anniversary. Over the past five years, the Karenni people, alongside the broader Burmese population resisting military dictatorship, have endured immense hardships, violence, and the various brutalities of the fascist army.

To protect the lives and property of local communities, achieve national equality, secure the right to self-determination, and overthrow the military dictatorship, the KNDF has fought alongside partner organizations in the Karenni State and Northern Shan State for half a decade.

The ULA/AA also highlighted that, through collaboration with allied organizations, resistance forces have successfully captured several towns and cities in the Karenni region, where they now operate their own administrative machinery.

Reiterating its solidarity, the ULA/AA expressed its profound respect for the martyrs of the KNDF and extended its best wishes to the entire Karenni population, hoping they achieve their military and political goals as soon as possible.
