AA Commander-in-Chief Delivers Video Message at First Conference of Karenni National Defense Force

General Twan Myat Naing, Commander-in-Chief of the Arakan Army (AA), delivered a video message at the inaugural conference of the Karenni National Defense Force (KNDF), held in Karenni State on August 28 and 29, 2026.

The conference was attended by 105 Central Committee members and military personnel, including 91 male and 14 female representatives. Among the attendees were military region commanders, department heads, battalion commanders, and office chiefs.

In his video address, General Twan Myat Naing encouraged the KNDF to continue strengthening its forces. While the KNDF's Central Information and Response Department released a press release and accompanying photograph regarding the event, the exact transcript of the General's statement was not made public.

Political analysts note that the address highlights the deep respect fellow ethnic armed organizations hold for General Twan Myat Naing, viewing him as a revolutionary model.

During the multi-day conference, KNDF leadership reviewed past military operations, assessed current military and political positions, and outlined future strategic directions for both ongoing operations and military institutional building.
