The Arakan Army (AA) announced that the Myanmar military is intensifying its airstrikes because it is facing continuous defeats on the ground.
According to a statement released by the AA’s News and Information Service detailing recent combat, junta forces are launching simultaneous offensives in regions bordering Rakhine State.
These areas include Magway, Bago, Ayeyarwady, and southern Chin State, alongside various border townships within Rakhine itself.
The military regime has reportedly deployed warships to shell coastal areas with heavy artillery while executing round-the-clock airstrikes on civilian populated areas.
The AA highlighted that the primary targets of these assaults include Kyauktaw, Mrauk-U, Thandwe, Gwa, Kyeintali, Pauktaw, and the Ponnagyun-Sittwe border zone. The bombardments have heavily impacted residential areas, hospitals, schools, and religious buildings.
