Prologue: A World in Flames
Mr. President,
On May 25, 2025, Russia unleashed its most lethal assault on Ukraine, launching nearly 370 missiles and drones, claiming at least 12 lives in Kyiv alone, as reported by The New York Times. This onslaught, the war’s deadliest, ravaged cities like Odesa and Kharkiv, leaving dozens wounded and infrastructure in ruins. Since 2022, estimates suggest over one million Ukrainian and Russian souls have perished, with millions uprooted.
This carnage compounds a century’s toll—hundreds of wars claiming over 100 million lives. When you branded Vladimir Putin “absolutely crazy” for this butchery, you spoke a searing truth. Yet I must ask: Why does your outrage halt at Ukraine’s borders? If the slaughter of civilians is madness in Kyiv, what is it in Rafah, Gaza City, or Khan Younis, where American-forged bombs have obliterated entire communities?
Your words wield immense power, Mr. President. When you speak, the world heeds. But when you remain silent, that silence becomes a weapon. It seeps into policy, resonates in drone strikes, and greenlights devastation. It proclaims, with chilling clarity: some lives are sacred; others, expendable.
That, Mr. President, is the madness we must all awaken from—together, while there is still time.
