928 male/female prisoners pardoned in Mandalay Region

On the Myanmar New Year’s Day, 928 male and female prisoners were released from five prisons and seven labor camps in Mandalay Region on the morning of April 17, according to the Prison Department.


The Mandalay Region Minister for Security and Border Affairs, Col. Nay Lin Soe, met with 271 male prisoners and 52 female prisoners, a total of 323, who were pardoned from Mandalay Central Prison, at Mandalay Central Prison and gave them a speech.


After that, the pardoned male and female prisoners were systematically given health checks, daily allowances and travel expenses and released from prison.


In Mandalay Region, 500 male prisoners and 98 female prisoner, a total of 598, were released from five prisons including Mandalay Central Prison, and 296 male prisoners and 34 female prisoners, a total of 330 prisoners from production camps were released on parole.
