8 Innocent Civilians, Including Children, Killed in Airstrike by Terrorist Military Commission on Gwa Township

The Arakan Army (AA) issued the statement that the Military Commission has been conducting continuous airstrikes using jet fighters on areas in the Arakan region where no ground combat is taking place, bombing Kyeintali Town and Kaing Khon Village in Gwa Township at midnight yesterday, August 13.



At around 11:30 PM yesterday, August 13, a jet fighter from the terrorist military dropped two bombs into a residential neighborhood on Maytta Paung Ku Street, Ward (1), Kyeintali Town.



According to the AA statement, the airstrike resulted in the immediate deaths of eight innocent civilians inside their homes: Daw Khin Moe Shwe (60), Daw Khin Sandar Tun (45), U Tun Lin (46), Ma Phyo Phyo Kyaw (36), Maung Min Wai Khant (35), Ma Win Ei Kyaw (26), Maung Nyan Lin Thant (12), and Maung Nay Lin Thant (7).



In addition, five civilian homes and one motor tricycle were destroyed, and the statement noted that investigations are ongoing to determine if there are further casualties or damages.


Similarly, at around 10:55 PM last night, a jet fighter dropped bombs on Kaing Khon Village in Gwa Township, though the Arakan Army stated that there were no civilian casualties or property damage reported in that specific incident.



On August 12, the terrorist military also launched an airstrike using a jet fighter on Ward (2) in Samee Town, Paletwa Township an area under Arakan Army control killing a 16-year-old girl and injuring eight others.



Furthermore, on August 12 alone, the Arakan Army (AA) reported that the fascist terrorist Military Commission used a jet fighter to drop four bombs in two passes on Kaing Khon Village, Gwa Township, at around 9:00 PM.



Facing military setbacks during ground clashes with the Arakan Army, the terrorist Military Commission has been launching relentless aerial attacks on civilian-populated areas. Consequently, the Arakan Army (AA) has urged citizens across the Arakan region to remain constantly vigilant regarding the threat of airstrikes.
