8 Civilians Killed and at Least 10 Injured in Military Commission Airstrike on IDP Site in Mindat

On August 30, the Military Commission forces launched a jet fighter airstrike on a village near Mindat Township, Chin State, where internally displaced persons (IDPs) were temporarily taking shelter.

The incident occurred at around 5:00 PM on August 30, when Military Commission forces carried out a sudden air attack on the village housing the displaced population.

The airstrike resulted in the deaths of 8 innocent civilians and left at least 10 others injured. Among those killed were young children enrolled in Kindergarten and Grade 9, as well as elderly individuals.

Additionally, approximately 20 civilian homes were destroyed during the strike, with several houses completely burnt to ashes.

Military Commission forces deployed two jet fighters to execute the attack, dropping four 500-pound bombs on the IDP shelter site.

Earlier on August 24, Military Commission forces also conducted an airstrike on Sein Nying Wa Village in Paletwa Township an area controlled by the Arakan Army (AA) killing five local residents, including two children.
