66 women killed, 88 wounded in violence by the Junta just in March: BWU

In March 2025, 66 women were murdered and 88 wounded in military council violence, the Burma Women’s Union (BWU) reported in its statement released on April 19.
The fatalities by region and state included 15 in Magway Region, 12 in Mandalay Region, 9 in Sagaing Region, 7 in Bago Region, 2 in Tanintharyi Region, 1 in Ayeyarwady Region, 2 in Rakhine State, 12 in Shan State, 2 in Kachin State, 2 in Karenni State, and 2 in Karen State.
The majority of fatalities resulted from airstrikes, accounting for as many as 50 deaths.
