471 junta’s airstrikes recorded in Rakhine State since the coup

In the five years of military rule, Myanmar experienced nearly 3000 airstrikes by the military junta, whereas Rakhine State witnessed 471 attacks, said the BNI - Myanmar Peace Monitor.
Since the day of military coup in 2021, Rakhine has become the second most bombed region after the Sagaing region that recorded 538 numbers of bombing.
“From 11 March 2021 to 11 February 2026, there were 2,964 airstrikes by the terrorist military in the country under military rule,” said the report.
After Sagaing and Rakhine, the third most bombed region was Shan (north) region with 306 bombings, where the fourth one was Mandalay region with 267 airstrikes.
Other regions had also experienced the airstrikes as 253 bombings took place in Kachin, 189 in Chin, 165 in Magway, 151 in Kayah, 92 in Tinshyiri, 89 in Bago (east), 87 in Shan, 45 in Mon, 37 in Ayeyarwady, 12 in Bago (west) and only one in NayPyiTaw, the capital of Myanmar.
The report also added that the military commission’s air forces continue carrying out airstrikes. The soldiers conducted 43 airstrikes within the last few days (29 January to 11 February 2026). Sagaing region faced 11 airstrikes during the period.
Other localities like Magway region witnessed 7 airstrikes, Karen State 5, Kachin State 5, Chin State 4, Rakhine State 3, Magway (west) 3, Kayah State 2, Magway (east) 2 and Tanintharyi faced only one airstrike.
