On March 1, yesterday, shortly after 11:00 a.m., the terrorist military council forces carried out an airstrike on the large truck parking area (ကားကြီးကွင်း) at Pyawng Kye village (ပြောင်းကျေးရွာ), Min Don Township, Tha Yet District, Magway Region. They used 500-pound bombs, 300-pound bombs, and rockets dropped from fighter jets.

Two junta fighter jets deliberately targeted the truck parking area—a spot where cargo trucks stop—resulting in the deaths of at least 25 innocent civilians, including Rakhine people living in or around the truck parking area, according to ground news sources.

Among the deceased were 14 men and 2 women. Nine bodies were severely burned and disfigured due to bomb fragments and fires. According to lists obtained by ONN, the Rakhine victims included:

U Maung Myint Than (Nwar Yone Taung village, Ann Township)

Maung Phyo Paing Oo (Aww Byin village, Ann Township)

U Maung Khin Soe (Aww Byin village, Ann Township)

U Maung Than Thein (Nwar Yone Taung village, Ann Township)

U Tun Tun Win (Thauk Taung town)

Daw Thet Thet Win (Myay Ni village, Ann Township)

U Maung Maung (Thauk Taung town)

U Ye Htun (Thauk Taung town)

The airstrike occurred during midday when truck drivers and traders were eating lunch, resting, or loading/unloading goods on their vehicles. This was a time when the highest number of innocent civilian workers were present, indicating a deliberate attack on civilians.

More than 20 other innocent civilians were injured in the truck parking airstrike, with at least 10 suffering severe wounds.
