The National Unity Government (NUG) 


  • On World Labour Day, the NUG stated that they had gained success to some extent in their efforts for taking severe action against the military junta in accordance with Article (33) of the International Labor Organization for the junta’s human rights violations against labourers. 

  • The Committee Representing Pyitaungsu Hluttaw pledged that they would make an effort to adopt better and stronger laws and bylaws for workers. 

  • On World Labour Day, the Acting President of the NUG sent a statement that they would always stand together with the entire public in the efforts to build a fair society. 

  • On Wednesday, there was a meeting among the Labourers’ Affairs Committee and the International Relations Committee under the CRPH, and Ministry of Labour-NUG to take action against the military junta in accordance with Article (33) of the ILO. 

  • In the eastern part of Bago Region, the junta army conducted aerial bombings and fired heavy artillery deliberately on local villages in Sittaung Valley on April 28 and 29. According to No. (2) Southern Military Region, 4 people lost their lives and 3 others were injured in the incident. 

  • In a meeting at the United Nations, Myanmar Ambassador U Kyaw Moe Tun warned that the military junta killing people in Myanmar might abuse nuclear energy.
