The National Unity Government (NUG)


  • Ministry of Defence-NUG and Chinland Council released congratulatory statements on the victory of the Chin Brotherhood and their alliance to have seized the town of Falam in Chin State.

  • In a hearing on Myanmar’s affairs at Korean Parliament, Minister of Human Rights-NUG presented about the human rights violations of Myanmar’s military junta and Myanmar amidst the natural disaster, the earthquake.

  • Ministry of Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Risks Management-NUG stated that there was up to 42% likelihood of after-shocks with the Richter Scale above 5 within a week until April 16 and such magnitude might cause damages.

  • According to the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation-NUG, an elephant named Tin Hla Hla aged 43 from an area under the NUG stepped on a landmine on the way to transport timber for the repairs of military routes, bypasses and bridges in Sagaing Region.

  • At 3:00 pm Saturday, the NUG will conduct a press conference on emergency response to the major earthquake of Sagaing.
