Pyithu Hluttaw proposes Senior General Min Aung Hlaing and Dr. Kyaw Swe as vice-presidential candidates

The first day of the Elected Pyithu Hluttaw Representatives Group Meeting was held on March 30, and Senior General Min Aung Hlaing and Dr. Kyaw Swe, the Pyithu Hluttaw representative from Taungdwingyi constituency, were proposed as vice-presidential candidates.


Senior General Min Aung Hlaing was proposed as vice-presidential candidate by Dr. Kyaw Kyaw Htay, the Pyithu Hluttaw representative from Dawei constituency, and seconded by Nan Yi Yi Win, the Pyithu Hluttaw representative from Pinlaung constituency.‎ Furthermore, Dr. Kyaw Swe, the Pyithu Hluttaw representative from Taungdwingyi constituency, was proposed as vice-presidential candidate by the Kyankhin constituency Pyithu Hluttaw representative and seconded by the Pyithu Hluttaw representative from Sitoktaya constituency.


Then, Pyithu Hluttaw Speaker U Khin Yi announced Dr. Kyaw Swe and Senior General Min Aung Hlaing as the names of the vice-presidential candidates submitted with the proposal.‎ After that, Hlegu Constituency People’s Hluttaw representative U Khin Maung Soe was selected as the elected Pyithu Hluttaw representative to be part of the screening committee to determine whether the qualifications set for the President are met. The second day of the Elected Pyithu Hluttaw Representatives Group Meeting will continue on March 31.
