Myanmar PNO militia burns homes and expels residents from Tapuhtoe village in southern Shan State

Mizzima

The Pa-O National Organisation (PNO), an ally of the military junta, forcibly displaced residents from Tapuhtoe village in Hsihseng Township, southern Shan State, and later torched several homes, according to a statement released on 16 June by the Pa-O National Liberation Army (PNLA), a Pa-O resistance organisation.

PNO troops, who had been stationed in Tapuhtoe for over four months, issued an eviction order on 7 June, demanding villagers from Tapuhtoe and at least seven nearby communities vacate their homes by 15 June. These included Kaunghtoe, Lwayngun, Naungbo, and Pinset villages in the Naungkyaw village tract, as well as Naunghtaw and Kalalam villages in the Taungshe village tract.
