Myanmar military fighter jet goes missing during training flight after losing contact

A Myanmar military fighter jet has gone missing after losing contact during a training flight, Tatmadaw said in a statement.

The plane suddenly disappeared from radar due to bad weather conditions 130 kilometers southeast of Nay Pyi Taw on the night of July 1, it said.

Initial investigations by officials suggest that the incident may have been caused by mechanical failure or bad weather, and search and rescue teams are being sent to the area where the plane went missing despite the bad weather, it said.
