Troops of the military junta set fire to two villages in the eastern part of Minhla Township, Tharrawaddy District, Bago Region, on 2 July, forcing more civilians to flee amid escalating raids, according to the Minhla Township People’s Defence Force (PDF).

Troops reportedly torched homes in Zayit Hmyaung village around 11 am, and less than 30 minutes later, also burned homes in nearby Shwe Pauk Pin village.
