Junta breaches its truce, Kyaukphyu remains targeted by airstrikes

The military council has announced a 20-day ceasefire, yet airstrikes are still being reported in Kyaukpyu Township, Rakhine State. Kyauk Phyu holds significant importance for the junta because of substantial investments from China.

A resident of Kyaukphyu informed Narinjara News that the military council conducted two airstrikes using fighter jets near Pyin Shay village in Gong Chuen village track, Kyaukphyu township, at approximately 11:30 am on April 4.

"Today, a fighter jet also flew and arrived.

The bombs did not hit the village but fell in the nearby regions," he stated.
