AA frees 144 family members of POWs taken in Taungup battle

The Arakan Army (AA) has freed and returned 144 prisoners of war and their relatives who were taken prisoner during the Taungup battle in Rakhine State.
On August 9, the Arakan Army (AA) conducted a ceremony in the Taungup combat zone to free 144 relatives of prisoners of war who were captured and imprisoned there, handing them over to their families, according to a source close to the (ULA/AA) in Taungup.
"Those who can be freed from the prisoner of war's family members have been released. There are 144 of them. After the ceremony, they were carefully handed over to their families and freed, and they are both men and women," he said.
